The Problem 02: Traditional golf mats can impact upon your customers’ health
PGA Pro Guide
Shock and vibration of traditional mats

Traditional golf mats consist of a top surface of artificial grass bonded to foam backing and they are often laid directly onto concrete. This means a number of negative side effects can arise when people continually hit from hard synthetic mats. The shock and vibration from a club hitting a hard mat travels up the shaft, into the wrist, arm, shoulder and back causing a number of problems.

Injuries caused by traditional mats:

  • Tendonitis
  • Golfer elbow - medial epicondylitis
  • Tennis elbow - lateral epicondylitis
  • Lower back pain
  • Golfers wrist - hamates fractures
  • Wrist pain - carpal tunnel syndrome
